I enjoy an artistic approach to landscape photography and use an impressionistic style to capture the emotion and vivid colours of Australia’s breathtaking coastline.
Mostly photographing the Northern Beaches of Sydney, my love of the peninsula was passed down from 100 years of family who lived a beach life in Dee Why before me. My memories and stories are of a colourful beach culture across the eras and a playground of surf, sand, rockpools and heavily-scented ocean air.
Drawing on these experiences, my enjoyment of oil painting and passion for photography all come together to create painterly-style seascapes which capture the essence of place and our deep emotional connection with the sea - one which is timeless, rhythmic and ever-changing.
Once I look out through the camera’s lens, the boundary between what is normally seen dissolves into a painted world of light, feeling and colour. I invite you into this ethereal world to make your own connection to the magic of the landscape around us.
